We are committed to the continual improvement of both external and internal environmental performance by means of an effective Environmental Management System (EMS). Solo Cup Europe is one of the first food packaging companies to implement an EMS system based on the International Standard ISO14001.
We manufacture our food packaging products with due consideration for the environment. Initiatives to ensure the highest of standards of hygiene have been implemented and we undertake a series of environmentally-friendly activities to reduce our carbon footprint. We are moving towards sustainability through innovation and education.
Solo Cup Europe is a co-sponsor of Closed Loop Recycling and will be supplied with 20% of Closed Loop Recycling’s rPET, which will be used to manufacture clear tumblers and containers
Closed Loop Recycling is the first step towards creating an integrated recycling programme in the UK.
Closed Loop Recycling is the UK’s first food-grade plastics recycler. They produce food-grade recycled PET (rPET) from plastic bottle waste. Their first plant in Dagenham will process 35,000 tonnes of mixed plastic bottle waste in a year and will open a second site in Northern England in the coming months
